Once you've connected a WordPress site to Siteligent, you can check its connection status from your dashboard at any time.
A healthy connection is important because features such as monitoring, backups, updates, and security scans rely on Siteligent being able to communicate with your website.
Understanding Connection Statuses
You can see the current status of each website in your site list.
Connected: The site is successfully connected to Siteligent and can communicate with the Siteligent Connector installed on your WordPress site and use the features available for the connected site.
Pending: The site has been added to Siteligent, but the connection has not been completed yet. This usually means the connection token still needs to be entered in the Siteligent Connector, or the connection process has not finished.
Disconnected: Siteligent is no longer able to communicate with your website.
This can happen if:
The Siteligent Connector has been deactivated.
Your website or server is unavailable.
A firewall or security plugin is blocking Siteligent.
Your website's configuration has changed.
If your site was previously working and suddenly shows as disconnected, check the Connector first and then review your firewall or security settings.
Error: An error means Siteligent encountered a problem while trying to establish or maintain the connection. Possible causes include SSL certificate problems, incorrect connection settings, or security rules preventing the connection.
If you're setting up a new site and it remains pending, check that:
The Siteligent Connector is installed and active.
You copied the correct connection token.
The token was entered under your site Settings → Siteligent page.
You completed the connection process in your Siteligent dashboard.
Connection tokens are temporary, so if your token has expired, generate a new one and try again.
Refreshing the Connection Status
If you've just fixed a connection problem, you don't always need to wait for the dashboard to update on its own.
You can manually check the site's connection:
Open My Sites from the sidebar.
Select the website you want to check.
Open the site's general settings page.
Click Test Connection option.
Siteligent will check the connection and update the site's status.
This is particularly useful after reactivating the Connector, changing firewall settings, or fixing a server issue.
If Your Site Still Shows as Disconnected
If the status doesn't change after syncing, check the following:
Make sure the Siteligent Connector is still installed and active.
Confirm that your website is accessible over HTTPS.
Check whether Cloudflare, a firewall, or a WordPress security plugin is blocking Siteligent requests.
Review your site's connection settings.
Try syncing the site again.
