Connecting your WordPress website to Siteligent takes only a few minutes. Once connected, you can manage your site from the Siteligent dashboard and use features such as backups, monitoring, security scans, and updates.
Before you begin, make sure you have access to both your Siteligent account and your WordPress administrator dashboard.
Before You Start
Your website should meet the following requirements:
WordPress: 5.8 or later
PHP: 7.4 or later
HTTPS: Your website should have a valid SSL certificate
Step 1: Install the Siteligent Connector
The Siteligent Connector is the WordPress plugin that establishes the connection between your website and Siteligent.
Log in to your WordPress administrator dashboard.
Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
Search for Siteligent.
Find Siteligent Connector and click Install Now.
Once the installation is complete, click Activate.
Installing the Connector Manually
If you received the Connector as a ZIP file, you can install it manually:
In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
Select the Siteligent Connector ZIP file.
Click Install Now.
Click Activate Plugin after the installation finishes.
You can download the Connector ZIP file from the Connect New Site section of your Siteligent dashboard.
Step 2: Connect Your Website
There are two ways to connect your website to Siteligent:
Auto-Connect: The recommended and easiest method.
Manual Connection: An alternative when your website has firewall, staging, or network restrictions that prevent the normal connection process.
Option 1: Auto-Connect
Auto-Connect uses a temporary connection token to securely pair your WordPress website with your Siteligent account.
Log in to your Siteligent Dashboard.
Click Add Site and select Auto-Connect.
Enter your website's full URL, including
https://.Siteligent will generate a unique connection token.
Copy the token.
Return to your WordPress administrator dashboard.
Open Siteligent → Connection.
Paste the token into the connection field.
Click Connect.
Return to your Siteligent dashboard and wait for the site status to change to Connected.
The connection status should normally update within a short period after the Connector successfully connects.
Option 2: Manual Connection
Use Manual Connection if your website is behind a restrictive firewall, staging environment, or other configuration that prevents the Auto-Connect process from completing.
In your Siteligent Dashboard, click Add Site.
Select Manual Connection.
Siteligent will provide a site secret token and the Siteligent API endpoint.
Copy both values.
In your WordPress administrator dashboard, go to Siteligent → Connection.
Enter the site secret token in the appropriate field.
Enter or confirm the Siteligent API endpoint.
Click Connect.
Once the connection is successful, the website will be available in your Siteligent dashboard.
Step 3: Verify the Connection
After connecting your website, return to the Siteligent dashboard and check the site's status.
A Connected status means Siteligent has successfully established communication with your WordPress website.
If the site remains Pending, Disconnected, or shows an Error, see our Troubleshooting Site Connection Issues guide.
